Planted Comments?
By Ben Meisner
Prince George, B.C. - Readers should be made aware Opinion250 is being fed a scripted set of comments dealing with the carbon tax and the government in BC.
The letters all speak about how the individual feels the Liberal government in power is doing an extra special job.
These comments are coming from all across the province and you should be made aware that they are not all from the local area.
Unlike local media, Opinion250 reaches out over a wide area of the province making it accessible to many more people
As for the commentators who are e-mailing the specially scripted letters of support, sorry this is not an advertising venue for Liberals, NDP or whatever party in this province. That is unless of course you want to buy a campaign style ad, in which case we will take your money and everyone will then know that the comments are being paid for by someone with a vested interest.
This activity is similar in nature to the antics during the discussions about BC Rail. During that time, special "callers" made sure they were on the line, and got on the air with me during my talk show.
If the government, or the Liberl Party, or whoever is responsible, thinks the carbon tax, or the Speech from the Throne are good for us, then someone should drop the cheer leading campaign and let the issues stand on their own.

I guess there's no actual law against misrepresentation ... or is there?
Come to think of it, how faking and planting a paid political announcement any different from pre-loading an opinion poll to make it look the way Mr Money-Bags wants it to look and not the way things really are.
Misrepresenting public opinion is a rotten abuse of the privileges of free speech.
Not many people know that the Gordon Campbell government hired 185 new -- NEW -- Public Affairs Officials in September 2006 under Order-in-Council #656. Public Affairs? Media Monitors. 185 in addition to the number of Spin Doctors already on the public payroll. Who needs them?
The awful irony is that taxpayers are paying quite a few employees to fool us into thinking ... well, whatever they decide ... no guarantee it's the truth.
Personally I think this reflects poorly upon the big monopoly press in BC.
Thanks for telling a few of these Comment-Planters that they should get a real job, Ben.
