Interesting that other cites all have a project to build...while Prince George wants to use all the money to analize the situation....another study....by the study city.....
$200,000.00 will remove the gravel bar that is blocking the river at it's mouth.
Whats to study?
Are the people doing the study related to the people writing the cheque.
The city gov needs to go play in a few water puddles and record the effects of their play in a book. Then pass the book over to some adults, so they can use that play information to repair the problem.
Stewart is removing 6000 cubic meters of gravel from the Bear river to mitigate flooding.
When you block the natural flow path of a river, the water flows where it wants.
If you prevent blocking the natural flow of a river it will stay put.
What part of that don't these people get?
Dredge the shallow points at the confluence of the two rivers. Thank you. That will be $200,000 please. You can send the cheque by mail.
PS. It may be possible to reduce the cost of replacing the Cameron street bridge. When Ice Jam 2007/2008 lets loose on the Nechako, demolition of the old structure just may be looked after by mother nature.
LMAO raresense
You better believe it, when spring comes and all that ice comes ripping down the river, this past flooding will have been a walk in the park.
You haven't seen nothing yet.
