This is your chance.  If you have any ideas on how the  provincial government should spend your tax dollars in 2006 - 2007 you have the opportunity to share those thoughts.

The Select Standing committee on Finance and Government Services will be holding hearings later today at the Ramada Hotel .
Written and oral submissions can be made from 4-8 p.m.today.  The deadline for submissions is the 23rd of this month.

There are four main areas the committee would like your thoughts on:

How should provincially important physical and social infrastructure projects be paid for?

What is your opinion on the goverenment's current practice of having a contingency fund and forecast allowance to protect balanced budgets from unforseen events?

What are the priority areas the government should focus on for allocating anticipated surpluses?

What are your comments on other budget topics that may not have been addressed in the  consultation paper?

You can get  a summary of the budget Consultation Paper online at: http://www.leg.bc.ca/budgetconsultations
