Province and Feds Sign Agreements

B.C. has signed three agreements with Ottawa which bring B.C. on board for a share of three special funds.
One of the funds is the Community Development Trust which will provide new federal funding over the next three to five years to assist workers and communities in the ailing forest industry. Theother two funds will help expand public transit, and hire more front-line police officers.
The funding represents B.C.'s share of the national Community Development Trust ($129 million ) Capital Trust 2008 ($67 million) , and Police Officer Recruitment Trust ($53.3 million over the next five years).
