I am so annoyed at the U.N.B.C Grad ceremonies being held at the Sports Arena? Which means two ceremonies one in the morning one in the afternoon .There are only three tickets for each grad ,they can ask for more only if availability  allows ..So Grandma& Grandpa and brother and sisters etc cannot attend ? How dreadful!!! Only because the sports center is free .So What did the grads pay there fees for .no ,no ,no, not gowns or caps because they each pay $45.00 for them And to sit in bleachers!!! come on U.N.B.C. this is ridiculous. Many of us would willingly pay $5.00 for a seat at the C.N.Center .I hope this will be looked into .Thanks

In the long run they are a business and they are in business to make money. I would like to think of them as a educational institiute but lately the way the prices and lousy service have been its more of a corporate machine then anythying.
That letter was written by a (soon to be) University graduate?

They should be thankful they're graduating at all.
The number of people who actually use the facilities are very low . I suspect having the graduation at the Sportsplex is to get the numbers up.

This Sportsplex at the end of the day will be a monetary albatross around the necks of Prince George Taxpayers. All their forecasts for revenue have been off base since the beginning, when they stated that they would generate $900,000.0 in revenue and approx the same in costs. Now they are being funded $300,000.00 per year from the City and the same from the University which is a deficit of $600,000.00 per year.

Does anyone ever have to answer for the blatanly false numbers that are put out to ensure that the projects go forward and then left to taxpayers to pick up the pieces.
I think that it is time that UNBC build a purpose made building the same as UofT that a long time ago realized that graduation is a very special occasion.

They have Convocation Hall.

I agree Palopu...it's a real problem that only results in money wasted that could be spent on better things.
Why do we keep building these useless projects that are of little use or value to the taxpayer?
Seems there is more of this waste now than ever?
What are we really doing?...building planning and construction jobs for a chosen few, and then move on to the next useless project that does little but eat up taxes?
Many Universities have split ceremonies. Yes it is being held at the NSC to get some promotion of the facility and to show it off. Not too sure about the numbers but yes the place is being heavily subsidized by UNBC in many ways, and yet the UNBC Daycare now has to pay to use the facility.

Convocation Hall will not be built any time soon at UNBC. They just built the T&L building for 32 million and yet are still lacking classrooms. So now they use expensive computer labs as classrooms and there is a shortage of computer time for the students !
