Prince George, B.C. - The price of a litre of regular  gas has  jumped nearly 6 cents today from its  previous mark of 116.0.

The  expectation is that the price will go higher, as today, the price of a barrel of crude was at $110.20, with  a prediction it will hit $143.26 before the year is through.

Keep in mind the new 2.4 cent a litre provincial  tax has not yet been added to the price.

ouch!!!
thank goodness I just bought a new Kia, easy on the gas!! better for the environment
poor loggers...glad that we are done for the spring!
KIA - Krap Imported to America

May we remind you from Opinion250, either keep it clean or keep it to yourself. The reason the two posts were dropped is obvious.
Anyfreeze time to run your V-8 on Vegetable oil!
The snow is going away quickly. Good thing - time to bring out the bike.
That's very good of you Anastasia. We looked at the Kia also because of the whole gas thing but our credit was so bad we thought we'd be better off going to a dealership where we "knew someone".......
We now have a mini van which I found excellent on gas compared to our beast Explorer but still costs too much IMO. Travelling anywhere this summer almost seems impossible. Who would've thought being an adult would be this much fun????

The US dollar is dropping like a stone and the Canadian dollar with it.

No wonder it takes more dollars to pay (internationally) for a barrel of crude.

Coming back from Quesnel I saw a SMART car - it had no trouble passing me. I had my cruise control set at 100km/h.

Congratulations, Anastasia! Have the KIA serviced regularly and switch to synthetic motor oil after the first year of driving - your gas mileage will increase and the engine will last longer!
Strike one for me, I got my post removed! Sory folks i will keep it "G" rated from now on. :)
Thank you Heidi & Diplomat;

Heidi I thought the same thing about the cost but as luck would have it just as I was pulling onto to the lot they were lowering the price from $15,995 to $10,900 so lucky for me!! and I have no credit either!! but had money to put down so I drove away with a brand new vehicle!!

Thanks Diplomat for the advise, my sales man told me the exact same thing!!
Those smart cars don't even get that great of fuel economy. I don't understand why anyone would buy one.

5.9 L / 100 Km highway. Civic uses less fuel at 5.1 / 100 km highway and has 130 hp vs 70(!) for the 'smart' car.

Sure the Civic similarly equipped is about 2 grand more but it's twice the car too.

"ouch!!!

Sounds like a commercial or something. Must work there.

Oil campanies are plain thieves. When the barrel dropped from a high of some $80.00 last year to a low of $60.00 some and gas was up around $115.0 p/l. the head honcho at Petro Can said pump prices have nothing to do with the price of the barrel it's supply and demand so that's way you don't see a drop in gas prices. There is ample supply and the demand is not up yet so how come the barrel goes up so do prices the same day. What a about the fuel they have in their tanks? I didn't see tanker trucks at every gas station in town at the same time. Just a bunch of crooks! Kamloops is 122.9 highest in BC. 100.0 in Sooke BC 107 on the lower mainland.
I used to think the same as you, Death. That is, until I was looking for a new car and I got the best bang for my buck with a Kia. I love my Kia Spectra, and the improved mileage is a big plus. Good choice, Anastasia.
I would of thought Heidi would get a "credit boost" or monertary after suggesting the Amphipex. Excuse me for the mispelling today.
Friends had an '06. Literally in the shop more than out, got zero dollars when they finally had enough & traded it away. Hopefully you guys have better luck.
DPJ I wish I knew who you were because YOU ROCK!!!

...lol.. Each time I waste gas driving over the John Hart bridge I smile!!! Good enough for me.

:)
Mr. Burns I DO NOT work for Kia!!! LOL but ya after I re-read what I wrote I can totally see why someone may have that thought.
Congrats Anastasia. Sounds like you made a wise purchase.
I drive a Cummins and it gets OK mileage for a 3/4 ton truck. Despite that, $1.25 or more per litre will prevent me from going on trips that I would otherwise take, so the price of fuel will save emissions as far as I'm concerned. If the gov't and oil companies want us to drive less, just keep raising the prices. I need to stay home more and do ren-o's this year anyway.

I think i'll start looking for a super cheap car to drive and leave the truck parked.
8.1 L truck, sure it costs more but I just write it off as entertainment. Love my truck.
Well, there goes the B.C.tourism business for this summer!
I WAS going to the Yukon and Alaska but we may have to re-think that one!
Can you pull a 5th.wheel with a Kia?
Seems pretty strange in PG that the price goes up all the same time - no bargains for gas here - not even for 1 hour.
"Literally in the shop more than out..hopefully you guys have better luck."

Sounds like the story of the 96' Chrysler we had the displeasure of owning since brand new.

A domestically made lemon.
For those thinking of forgoing the planned vacation because gas price went up. Campared to the whole price of the vacation, the rise in gas prices isen't going to add that much. Figure it out. I hope people arn't trading in perfectly good cars for one that is cheaper on gas. Just think of interest costs, depreciation, poor price for the tradin, higher insurance etc. When you apply all that, your what you thought is a cheaper ride just got very expensive.
What the hell is a KIA never heard of it.
Presume that it is a small car that if it was hit by a truck it would be crushed, and burst into flames.

There is a downside to small cars.
I know the price of crude went up, but I wonder how much that affected the price of gas. It wouldn't have anything to do with the upcoming spring break and Easter holiday would it? Seems to me that is about the time gas prices rise, in spite of what the market is doing, every year.
What the hell is a 1 ton? Never heard of it. Presume that it is a big truck that if it was hit by a semi it would be crushed and burst into flames. There is a downside to diesels :)
Has anyone who uses 5th ave late in the evening noticed that Petro can raises there price every night after 11pm 1 to 2 cents a litre till 6am. I see this nightly while hauling snow.
Music from the Club Med commercial...

Hands Up,...Baby, Hands Up,....
I am one of the lucky (or unlucky) one that drives a KIA vehicle. Not bad until warranty ends, then big bucks. I personally like toyota's.

Thankyou Heidi for your comment. Not sure if Ben would let me give email address thru the public forum. See if he see's this comment and if he sends a statement in regards to it.
Hey...can I mix vegetable oil and gas 50/50 to run my truck on?
hummm....would it smell like a deep fryer?
:-)
KIA....."killed in action"!
Have an accident and they just bury you in it.Saves money on a pine box!
