Prince Rupert, B.C. -  Later thismorning,  Prince Rupert RCMP will unveil  their switch to PRIME .  The detachment will be showcasing PRIME technology to local media  and illustrate its capabilities and benefits to law enforcement in the community.

“PRIME offers many exciting benefits which will allow our police officers to be more efficient and effective in their criminal investigations” says Supt Ken Handy, Officer in Charge of the PRIME-BC Implementation. “Crime has no boundaries with PRIME”.

The implementation in Prince Rupert will complete the PRIME roll-out schedule for the entire North District, which covers the upper two-thirds of the province of BC, including the Queen Charlotte Islands. North District has the Pacific Ocean on the west, Alberta to the right and the Yukon Territory to its north. In the District there are over 40 detachments and satellite support units delivering police services to large cities, rural farming areas, towns, villages and remote communities that are only accessible by boat or plane.

“I’m proud of the work that has been done by the North District PRIME implementation team and the Detachment coordinators who have embraced the new technology and worked tirelessly to build in the infrastructure and help coordinate the training,” says C/Supt. Barry Clark, North District Commander. “PRIME allows North District police officers the ability to share real-time information within our jurisdiction and across the province. It is a welcomed new tool in our policing tool belt”.

There always seems to be a new policing tool of some sort coming online.
Unfortunately, the criminals don't seem to care much about that.
The cops are losing the battle and the public pays the price!
The members hate prime. The only reason why it was instituted was because Rich Coleman the ex attourney general made it a law for BC to use it. It is turning the rcmp members into data entry clerks and the Patrol Cpl's are relegated to sitting in the office reading files on prime - not being out on the road where they should be, supervising junior members.
The previous system: ROADS was much more user friendly.
Nothing for the con loving judges? Humbug!
