Committee Formed To Fight CNC Cuts

Prince George, B.C. - NDP leader Carole James says that CNC should do the right thing and keep the programs for people with disabilities. She spoke briefly at a meeting last night of over 100 people protesting the College's suspension of programs for people with disabilities.
Several people in the audience talked about their own personal experiences in having their children or loved ones taking the program and the benefits that came from them.
Lorna Ditmar, Executive Director of Employment Action, a local employment agency for the disabled, told the audience that she was shocked by the suspension. Ditmar said it flies in the face of the Premier's pledge to have a 10% increase in the number of people with disabilities holding jobs.
The group has struck a committee to try and restore the programs. That committee can be reached at 564-5681
