Prince George, B.C. - The Edmonton Drillers will take on the PGFC this weekend at CN Centre for two exhibition soccer games as they try to form a permanent team in the Canadian Major Indoor Soccer League. Prince George would be the first team in British Columbia if it is a success.
PGFC is comprised of 22 players including player / coaches Sipho Sibiya and Sonny Pawar.
Nikki Ribeiro – PGFC Business Manager is putting all the last minute details together such as drumming up fan support. “I want to create a Sea of White. I am asking all fans to wear white to the games when they come and cheer on the PGFC Team. We are just days away from making soccer history in Prince George." We have sold 1500 tickets to date, our goal is to reach 3000. With the amount of soccer players and fans in Prince George we certainly hope to see people come support this great event."
Sipho Sibiya is looking forward to this weekend as there has been an outpour these last few days with ticket requests. “I cannot wait to see the expression on the players faces when they walk out on the field and see their families and friends cheering them on.”
