Prince George, B.C.- The unemployment rate in Prince George was up last month compared to March of 2007.

There were 13 hundred fewer jobs available in March ’08.
Provincially, the rate was 4.3%
Nationally the rate increase from 5.8% to 6.%.
Statistics Canada says the upward swing in the jobless rate was due to more people entering the labour market in search of work.
Just yesterday, RBC, the largest bank in Canada, released it's prediction on the country's ecnomic growth for this year, saying it will grow 1.6 per cent in 2008, down from 2.7 per cent in 2007.
