Merritt, BC:   The RCMP have released two more photos of Allan Dwayne Schoenborn, the prime suspect in the murder of three Merritt children.

Police are hoping the photos may help generate additional tips from the public.

The photos stem from the suspect being brought into police custody on April 3 after he allegedly threaten two individuals at a local elementary school.

Police are hoping the photos will draw attention to the fact that the suspect is of small stature, provide the public a side profile of the suspect and help generate the key tip that will allow police to locate Allan Schoenborn.

In addition to releasing the photos, police would like to remind the public of Allan Schoenborn’s description:

  • Caucasian
  • 5’4" (163 cm)
  • 130 lbs (59 kg)
  • Brown hair (with a significant balding spot)
  • Hazel eyes
  • 40 years old
  • He has a distinct scar on his left eyebrow which continues down the left side of his face, as well as a scar on both ears.
  • Known to smoke cigarettes

Allan Schoenborn may possibly be accompanied by a German Shepherd/Retriever dog (brown and white) named Van Gogh.

Police would like to thank the public for their continued support and information they have received so far. They continue to follow-up on the 190 tips they have received since the beginning of the investigation and invite anyone with information to call Merritt RCMP at (250)378-4262 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.

Although police believe this was a targeted incident and have no information to suggest that the suspect could harm anyone else, the suspect should be considered to be dangerous.

The puzzle just not coming together;
How is a father, who was so sensitive
for someone hurting his daughter's
feeling, murders his children ?
Was there another man in the mother's
life?
Obviously, the father was around,
could he be framed and everyone blaming the wrong person ?
Maybe the killer still in Merrit ?
Criminal record and 'mentally unstable'
does not make one a murderer.
Who mentioned first that he must done it ?
The mother of the children ?
The neighbours seen her leaving for 8-10
minutes and when she came back she called
police and she was screaming.
No one seen the father, no one heard
anything.....
Where was the mother when the children got murdered ?
If the father was around in that 8-10
minutes, why no one seen him ?
How come, the father could babysit for
her, while she was away some time ago for a whole week?

Puzzles, puzzles.....
No one is able to put them together ?

I agree with you. As devastating as this situation is-there are so many unanswered questions.

Every report seems to vary in terms of time lines, etc. I try to stick to the old rule, 'innocent until proven guilty'.

This one is a 'tricky puzzle' with very little information.

Stange - anyone going to school to confront your kids bullies is now going to be treated like a criminal. The state will now do the parenting. Talk too loud and you will get reported.
YamaDooPolCat does has a very good point.
Unfortunately, the government has been doing the parenting for quite a while now.
Parents have so little control over their children left, that the kids are actually starting to learn that they really don't have to do a damn thing they say!
As in " if I don't get my way,I will report you"!
My kids were bullied, their lunch was
eaten by the bullies etc.,
When complained to principal
the answer was: maybe you should pack
some extra for your kids, because his
(the bully) parent do not pack lunch for
him. (I was a single parent with four
children at that time)
Or another time my child got driven home
from high school by the vice principal, b/c someone from a different school
chased him with a knife
and demanded money from him. Of course,
the principal was not doing much about
it. I had to pull my kid from school to
avoid tragedy, because these thing were
happening daily.
Now, a generation later my grandchildren
facing similar problems. Bullying starts
at home, how the children are raised.
They see and learn things from parents
and other adults.
Just look at the bullying the residents
of Prince George suffers from their
city leaders.
Kids learn bad things fast.
They need good examples of life.

"He is known to smoke cigarettes". With our new laws, I am sure where I shouldn't bother looking.
God, if you sneezed on the guy too hard you would kill him.
I am amazed the police in Merritt never lost or erased the tapes they had his photo on.................
Ya, reasonable man, there ain't much to him. Scrawny is a word that comes to mind. I agree with some of the above comments too, this guy is presumed guilty in the court of the media, I suppose he probably is guilty, but we should not convict him based on hearsay.
metalman.
I wonder how much more there is to the story too.
