Former Spruce King Wins Team Award

Even though he only spent a few months with the Prince George Spruce Kings Tyler Helfrich proved he belonged at the next level. This season he was once again turning heads. Helfrich was acquired by the Kings at the trade deadline deal to help them with the RBC Royal Bank Cup. Recently the Calgary, Alberta native was named his team's Most Outstanding Freshmen. Helfrich had 9 goals and 20 assists with the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) men's hockey team in 38 games.  Helfrich was also ranked 18th nationally for points per game by a rookie and
second among freshmen scoring in the ECAC.
