Prince George, B.C. – RCMP say charges will not be laid in connection with a sleep-over incident which saw a young girl drink a slushie that had been spiked with a sleeping aid.

According to police, in the early morning hours of a birthday party sleep over in the Hart area  on April 27th (see previous story) the drink was spiked with three “sleep aids” which police say were over the counter, non prescription non narcotic. The girl had two such drinks and went home because she wasn’t feeling well.

Police say while the investigation is on going, charges are not being contemplated due to the age of the girls (all 13) and the “appropriate concern and response received from all involved including the parents.”

Police say the individuals involved will be “diverted to alternative measures.”

What the hell? Who cares if they are only 13. If anything deserves prosecution I would think it would be the deliberate drugging of another person.
They really don't get it do they?
Wonder if it would have been different if boys were involved.
Alternative measures is a euphemism for being lectured until yer eyes roll out of yer head. Got that?
Now is the time to put some real fear into them. Something they won't soon forget. I suspect the seriousness of the incident and the involvement of the RCMP should act as a deterrant. Chester
Okay ... sounds like an all girl sleep over of 13 year old girls.

And parents were there to make to supervise as best as they can when kids get rambunxious.

And what stupid things did we all do when we were 13?

Alternative to what measures?

Well thats nothing... one time when I was thirteen at band camp.... lol
What the heck kind of language is that?
"diverted to alternative measures"
The military gave us doublespeak, the fuzz adopted it as their own, no doubt trying to sound informed, authoritive and above the huddled masses, then the politicians developed their own version. Waddacrockabull.
metalman.
It's about time the parents got involved.
Its called the Youth Criminal Justice Act and you can thank the politicians for that. RCMP's hands are tied because of it.

Well thats nothing... one time when I was thirteen at band camp I snuck my pet bear into my tent and......
when and if the RCMP get their investigation done ,it reveals some person over the age- laced her slushie, this person will be a nominee on the mysterious vigilante group reported to be active in this area.
It appears the investigation IS done there Northern, least thats what I read in the story above.
Sit on yer hands and just wait til they grow up and move away.
Remember when you were a teenager? You were untouchable too. Even if these girls got into some trouble they would quickly learn that it doesn't count toward adulthood. Teens know that they can do almost anything and it all gets wiped away when they turn 18. Justice.
Yes lightgreengirl, but it is all because their parents are bad parents and its all the parents fault that this happened. You parents of these children should be ashamed of yourselves, look what you have done, you have created monsters. Its all your fault and you should go jump off a bridge or slit your wrists.
