Promotional material shows  addition of other resource industries

Prince George, B.C. The Forest Expo is set to take place in Prince George June 5th through the 7th, and you just might notice something different about the name of the three day show.

The event is now called, the Forest and Resources Expo.

The promotional material, as viewed above, includes mining and oil/natural gas .

There has been some criticism lately that the province is letting forestry go by the way side as it will take decades for the millions of hectares of forest to recover from the ravages of the mountain pine beetle.  Is that why the name of the three day show is being changed?  “That is not it at all” says Doug Routledge of the Council of Forest Industries (COFI) “I can see how it might seem that way, but we have always said that in order for the show to grow, we would have to expand the show.”

He says forestry is always the backbone which opens the doors for other industry, indeed, one of the richest gold and copper finds in recent years (Kwanika) was discovered under a forestry road.

The first Forest Expo was held in May in 1985.

i suppose the indians got it right," nothing left but stumps in the bush & holes in the ground " not much of a tourist attraction, the need is still there to loot and plunder, maybe we should have some before and after pictures? the debt must be paid off so our politicians can free themselves of the controlling strings of the foreign banksters, what a trade show that will make, don't hold your breath.
Replanting program. Thats the next big industry.

Foreign banksters, now theres a term that rolls off the tongue like a drop of mercury, and what a fitting analogy, if I do say so myself. Banksters and mercury are equally toxic to human life.
As I keep saying, love of money a.k.a. greed, and lust for (more) power, those are what will be driving us into the dirt, it is only a matter of time.
metalman.
Replanting is already a big industry. It could certainly be a bit more so, in order to cover forests denuded but not harvested (a lot of beetle wood in this category). Just so everyone is clear though, all logged crown land IS planted shortly after harvest. That includes licensee and small business harvests. As long as the beetle kill is harvested, it will be regenerated. For those (esp younger stands) which are not logged, it is likely that pine will seed in naturally.
