Drive Too Fast, Drink And Drive, No Seat Belt, Expect to be Busted This Weekend

Prince George, B.C. -The message was loud and clear, on this, the worst long weekend of the year for accidents, the cops are out to get those drivers who cause the problems.
Speaking at a special news conference set up at the intersection of Highway 16 west and Domano Blvd. Inspector Eric Brewer told the media and others gathered just what to expect.
"We have all of our road patrols out, radar, spot checks, Motorcycles and that plane flying overhead is the plane that will be used to catch speeders who think they have jumped the law."
Inspector Brewer said more people get killed on the highways this weekend than any other weekend in the year "and we are trying to put a stop to it."
Speaking to the group Sergeant Pat McTiernan, said they are making progress "We have reduced the number of accidents in this city by 14% but believe me we are not stopping there. "
ICBC's Diana Pozer said that the intersection of Highway 16 west and Domano is getting better. "With three quarters of the year reporting for 2007, we were down from 46 accidents to 36 and from 17 to 12 injuries. This intersection is getting better."
