Prince George, B.C. - Three young men are in custody following a crime spree in the College Heights area. RCMP say they started getting the calls around ten last night, and know of at least 15 vehicles that were either vandalized or stolen.

One vehicle that was recovered is a five ton cube van, another that was ditched was a freightliner tractor.
Two 20 year old males, and a 17 year old were taken into custody after a foot chase about 5 this morning in the Cowart Road area.

The two 20 year olds are known to police.

RCMP ask that if you are starting your day with the discovery of damage to a vehicle, they would like to hear from you so they can centralized this file. The investigation is being handled by Constable Christy on “C” Watch.

Wonder how many people are "known to police" in PG...the list must be growing
The two 20 year olds are known to police.
Lets make them known to the public.

Why was there a tractor/heavy truck parked in a residential area. I hope bylaw services is talking to the owner of this truck and explaining to him our cities bylaws regarding parking. Ya right what am I thinking, (hit's head on desk).

"Wonder how many people are "known to police" in PG...the list must be growing"

Why would the list be growning? It seems that all of the people doing things like this are repeat offenders- that means no one gets added to the list of "known persons."

We need to step up and make it hard on these people that continue to get in trouble instead of allowing them to get caught... and released again.
We need a 3 strike rule like in the stateswho cares if our prisons become overcrowded! Id rather feel safe walking in my city than feel sorry for some slim ball having to share a cell..
Its growing because there is an influx of these young "gangsters" moving up to PG to get a piece of the action...there is a lot of new faces in town
Wavoes... better idea would be to use the "three stroke" rule....

:-)
Great Time for the Tazer use.
Where's the V word? (Vigilantes) Oh, what was I thinking? I understand that if you catch yer cat climbing yer drapes, and you give it a good swat, the cat doesn't do that anymore. Can't we transpose from cat to brat?
I like the idea "let them be known to the public". Difficult to rent a place to live, difficult to blend into the traffic, difficult to justify your child to your friends and neighbours. Just plain hard to exist in the community when the public knows who and what you are.
Yes build more prisons, incarcerate more people, and have draconian laws.

The example of hard line on crime sure has worked in the US.

I think one should have to be responsible for the damages, including police and legal costs and any property damage.

Why should students have to be the only ones who carry a $40,000 debt load in their early 20's?
Lock the losers up and use them on chain gangs.
Chain gangs? And lose good union jobs because? I don't think so.
Sweeping our streets with brooms comes to mind.
I like the strokes.Cane them let them wear there misdeeds for life.Repeats will go way down as the marks go up.
