Prince George, B.C. -The Fraser River is expected to crest this afternoon at a level of 9.55 metres.
That is official "flood stage" .
The Fraser rose over the weekend in response to warm weekend temperatures followed by heavy rains Monday.
Evacuation alerts have been issued to residents on Farrell Road near Paddlewheel Park, while high water alerts and flood information have been delivered to residents of Houston Lane, lower Lansdowne Road and Wiens Road.
Water levels along the lower Nechako River near the confluence of the two rivers have also risen, but the rise in the Nechako is because increased levels in the Fraser are not allowing water from the Nechako into the Fraser River channel.
No state of emergency has been declared and no evacuation orders have been issued.
