How sad. This is going to cost the vehicle owners their deductible.
There are no easy answers. We know they're young punks roaming, but why? Why do they get their kicks out of this type of activity? Would they do that to their parents vehicles? What would be their reaction if any of their "friends" did that to their parents vehicles? No easy answers.

Our society in Prince George is right out of control. Citizens can fix this.

Somehow, we all have to step up to the plate and try to get us off the #4 rating for crime in Canada. That is totally shameful for a city of 77,000. Very small city. Crime costs us all so much money.

Lets all really pay attention to the next municipal election. Our municipal vote really counts. It's our most valuable vote.
If these punks are caught, haul their stuff outside and let the victims go at it with bats.
"we all have to step up to the plate and try to get us off the #4 rating for crime in Canada"

The way to start that is to realize that the McLean's article was biased in that it used very selective types of crimes. It is not that we do not have crime in this city. But there are many other cities which are far ahead of us. As far as I know, PG has a high rate of property crimes, which the incidents reported here would fall under.

Number two .... one has to look carefully at how to publicize this sort of information.

For instance, in some larger urban cetnres there are common places where people will commit suicide. That type of information is not reported because it is believed that such information will cause others to follow because their names will get into the paper or whatever reason they may have.

I believe copycat suicides and copycat crimes, especially copycat vandalism is a reality.
I hear using bats is quite effective. Since the province of Quebec has more than half the crime rate of BC, they obviously must use that method .....
You can' beat up on those kids. The girls will swarm you and beat you.
The only solution lies with our courts and judges, but unfortunately, there are far to many people who think we should be patting them on the ass and feeling sorry for them.
Punishment...not pity.
Regardless of how they were raised, they still know right from wrong.
A few strong examples will go a long way to making those that would do this kind of thing sit up and take notice!
acrider54...we get up WAY too early!
:-(
We as citizens need to be allowed more rights ro protect our property. If force is needed to protect our belongings then so be it. We should not have to worry about some punk slipping on the ice in front of our house while casing a break in job then suing our sorry asses for it. If a baseball bat is the answer to stop crime weather it be autotheft, vadalizm, home invasion....shall I go on?, then the cracking of the skull should be the crack heard around the world. The courts are overrun, the jails are overfilled and we are running out of options to protect ourselves.
You know if you crack them hard enough then they cannot testify against you in a court of law, just make damm sure you have no witnesses.
Vigilante patrols sound good to me.
Vigilante patrols followed by assault will sound good to the courts as well. They will welcome you with open arms ....
Then again maybe we can just wait until they grow up and move away. An option most detested, I presume.
Till they grow up? I suspect that when they do grow up, they will be the first to post on here that those who vandalize private property should be beaten up with baeball bats.

;-)
Andyfreeze....No point in wasting the best part of the day, nice and quiet.
