Prince George, B.C. – Members of the College of New Caledonia Faculty Association were handing out leaflets in front of the college this evening, raising awareness about the recent cuts to programs and staff.

Since 2002, it is estimated 70 full time employees have been released and 15 programs cut or suspended.

The Faculty Association’s information event follows the release of its non confidence motion in the governance of the College by the Board, the president and the administration.

The Faculty Association says despite reasonable alternatives to the “on going erosion of comprehensive educational programs, CNC has held firm to decision it reached this spring where, once again is has chosen to suspend and cancel essential programming for students.”

The cuts do serve a purpose. Come election time the Gordon Campbell Liberals will give Us back the money and services they took or cut to buy our votes. It is a sad commentary to what our democratic system has come to under the BC Liberals.
I can see why the performing arts program was tossed, Heehee!

As for the cuts, who is it harming and will we really notice? I realize we don't want to not get our tax dollars spent in PG, but as side from that, what is the relevance to meeting our local needs?

Way to go FACNC! Having a protest during an event whereas CNC is hosting a national event really shows that you have earned your high paying credentials. Theoretically brilliant, practically... well you pick the word. (Rhymes with Cupid)
