Prince George, B.C. - Water levels on the Fraser River dropped over the weekend but monitoring will continue over the next three weeks as further spring freshet flooding remains a possibility.
On Saturday, the Emergency Operation Centre rescinded evacuation orders issued last week to residents of Farrell Street. All six families who took advantage of Emergency Social Services accommodation have returned to their homes.
Cottonwood Island Park, Paddlewheel Park and parts of the Heritage River trails between the Cameron Street Bridge and Yellowhead Bridge remain closed. Even though river levels have dropped, the Fraser River is still running well above normal levels and remains dangerous.
The City is asking residents to stay well back of the banks of both the Fraser and Nechako Rivers.
