Prince George, B.C. - The City of Prince George has received $25 thousand dollars  from the Provincial Government  to create a  seniors housing strategy.

The City has already started  collecting information  through a special survey of people aged 55 and older who live in Prince George.  The questionnaire is similar to  ones conducted  in 1999 and in 2005, but this one focuses on housing.

The goals of the survey are to :

  1. improve the understanding of older individuals' views and concerns about housing,
  2. obtain information on trends related to seniors housing since the 1999 and 2005 surveys to identify declines and improvements over the years
  3. collect information to help community and government organizations as well as developers and builders provide better housing services for older adults

The  questionairre takes between 30 – 45 minutes to complete.

The surveys are to be completed  by the end of June.

The results of this survey will be made available to the public and summaries may be obtained after December 15th.

what a waste of money
Maybe someone should ask for $30 thousand dollars to enable them to take a poll and or survey to find out what people think about giving hard earned taxpayers money to find out stuff that is obvious if you are in touch with the world. I wanna share, if you do such a study. Call it a finders fee. Like I found this idea....
Better housing? Just try MORE housing. What a bunch of out of touch ninnies. IMO
Just build it (srs. housing) and they will come (the seniors) A no brainer, just build more senior houing. No studies and surveys required for those with their snouts in the trough.
