"This government understands the Blackwater road intersection is atcapacity for traffic turning onto Highway 16 and in need of upgrades,"said Rustad, MLA for Prince George-Omineca. "These improvements willsupport the increased industrial traffic from mountain pine beetle harvest log hauling and increase safety for local traffic."

The work is located at the intersection of Highway 16 and Blackwater road, approximately 6.77 kilometres east of Vanderhoof.
The work start date is July 2, 2008 and will be completed September 30, 2008.

This project includes the design and construction of Blackwater intersection improvements at Highway 16 to improve turning movements, address safety concerns and accommodate significant increase in log haul due to the mountain pine beetle infestation.  The work also involves re-surfacing three kilometres of Blackwater road.

3 months to upgrade an intersection? Who are they hiring? Snails?
I feel there are a few areas IN PG that need upgrading...The hwy coming into town from Vandrhoof should be 4 lanes way before parkridge heights...I'm no pro, but when I drive that the traffic seems heavy and there are quite a few turn offs and people are going 90km/hr or faster, it just doesn't seem safe to me...
