Armstrong, BC - Office workers of the Armstrong Division of Tolko Industries Ltd. are recovering from exposure to what appears to be carbon monoxide this morning.

Approximately 30 workers were evacuated from the building after some experienced light-headedness. On site first aid personnel provided oxygen until emergency preparedness crews arrived on scene.

Those with potential exposure were taken to hospital for further evaluation. As a precautionary measure, the sawmill and planer operations were shut down and workers were asked to leave the premises.

The source of the exposure is under investigation. “Our priority is with the wellness of our employees,” said Vyvian Burton, Manager, Human Resources.

“We want to thank the Emergency Preparedness teams from Armstrong and our onsite first aid personnel for their quick and effective response,” said Burton.

Good thing they contracted out all the HVAC systems 2 years ago.
Have a talk with the loader operator who parked his 988 in front of the building air intake louvres, and left it running while hesheitt went to lunch. It could also be a communist plot.
