Three crashes in the area. An ATV hit a mud puddle and rolled on the Blackwater trails near Jutland Rd. at 3pm yesterday pinning the driver under it. A brother operating a second machine came by minutes later and was able to lift the quad off the injured driver and call for an ambulance.

On Highway 97, 35 kilometers south of Prince George , a  truck rolled into the ditch. The driver and passenger did not sustain any major injuries. The driver had apparently fallen asleep at the wheel. He got a ticket for driving without due care.

On Highway 16 west near Vanway Elementary school a motor home collided with a truck. The Motor home had crossed in front of the truck. No one was seriously injured and no one required hospital treatment. The motor home driver was issued a ticket for driving without due care.

The ATVs (Quads) that regularly use South Kelly Road and Highland Drive at breakneck speeds do not have to worry about mud puddles, although the deep potholes can be hazardous - especially after dark.
Truck hits ditch and rolls.
The driver fell asleep at the wheel and was ticketed for undue care.

Falling asleep at the wheel is impaired driving and should be treated as such.
What about all those ATV up and down the road in the Lafernia subdivision.
What about the motorcycle / SUV crash on 97 right near the Carmel Inn?

Looked like the SUV tried to do a U-turn from southbound to northbound and unwittingly turned right in front of a motorcyclist.

We need that left turn NOW:

Also one at Foothills and Cheif Lake Sunday afternoon. I couldn't figure out what happened, the impact was west of the intersection, but it looked like the vehicle headed northbound from Foothills was struck by a truck headed east on Cheif Lake. You'd think the trucks would have been pushed to the other (east) side of the intersection, not the side they were on.
lostfaith, impaired driving eals with alcohol or drug related driving.
All hours of the day and night we have quads and dirt bikes (unlicensed) in the summer, and snowmobiles in the winter using the streets in Blackburn. A couple of weeks ago at 2:30 in the morning I heard a crash outside my bedroom window. I got up just in time to see a quad backing away from a truck he had just hit. Apparently he came around the corner too fast and ran right into the truck. There is $2500.00 damage to the truck and the owner now has to pay his deductible because it was a hit and run. There should be more we can do to stop these people from using the streets but I have no idea how. If you try to stop them they would run you over to get away.
lmorg, driving at a point where one is no longer able to retain consciousness is equally, or more dangerous than being under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs.
Quads and trailbikes on yer street? Live with it. It is only against the law if they get caught. Just wait until the day they grow up and move away.
That's the spirit Duffer, watch but don't call the authorities.
Uh...driver of truck falls asleep..um wouldn't the passenger have done something to stop the accident? Or maybe I am the only "backseat" driver...lol

Operators of ATVs ought to remember they are driving a motorized vehicle not a toy! Perhaps, they should have some sort of safety training? Dunno what the answer is but most of these accidents are preventable with care and attention.

So, you say if there was a left turn lane there this lack of attention wouldn't have occured?

lostfaith, impaired driving eals with alcohol or drug related driving.

You need to check that out cause you are mistaken.
You can indeed be charged with impaired driving for falling asleep at the wheel.
Impaired driving is different than driving under the influence.
