Prince George, B.C. – For the second time in two days, gas prices are on the rise in Prince George .

The Petro Canada station at 5th and Carney was selling a litre of regular gas for 144.9 this afternoon, up from the 142.2 that was posted Tuesday when the new carbon tax came into effect.
Across the street, the Shell station remained at 142.3 and at 5th and the bypass, the Esso station there was offering a litre of regular for 142.2 but the lower price is not expected to last long.

good that it is .9 again ... just can't get used to those .2s and .3s ......

:-)
Hey Campbell guess what? I still have to fill up my car. So much for your stupid carbon tax. Enjoy your last days in power.
Gas increased in price? Who would've ever seen that coming . . . LOL.
B.O.H.I.C.A
Any party that promises to regulate gas prices (like the maritimes)or reduce gasoline tax and/or eliminate the carbon tax will get my vote in the upcoming election.
Just a bunch of thieves, big oil and the BC Liberals. Big oil has billions in profits and so does Campbell for a little while until the final bill comes in for 2010. Taxe us to death federally, Provincialy and municipally. Pay more pay more, pay more and get dick all back. The working class are taxed to death in this country and province while the politicians get richer. Time for a "Tea Party"
By the way, Petro Can is always the first to raise prices, quit buying gas there alltogether.
Gas up again???? I just gassed up last night!! I don't use THAT much gas.
Petro Can always raises prices at night then changes them in the morning i agree stop buying your gas at Petro Can
I don't post there often, but my post on energy was the most recommended post on CBC today.

I should also add that I think the conservatives have been a complete failure when it comes to energy policy and protecting the Canadian consumers. I think if the issue was energy costs and the Canadian energy plan in the next election the federal conservatives would lose the election.
Not $1.50 yet Gordo. Perhaps another neutral gas tax would be in order.
Well, so much for the 2.5 cent liter - it was good for July 1 - Canada day - it is time the people take a hard look at the present government - yes, we got the $100 but Gordo is out to get us - someone has to pay for the Olympics
Hey, here is an idea (tongue planted firmly in cheek). How about we move the provincial capital to the Mainland( how about Vanderhoof, it is the geographical centre of the province) from Victoria so we can save fuel from the dozens of ferries and the hundreds of helicopters that transport bureaucrats and the MLA's from Vancouver to Victoria everyday?

As for the price raise, I was surprised that it wasnt raised more than 2.5 cents/litre on Canada Day.. How many people have spent their $100 bribe already?
Actually Vanderhoof is not the true geographical center of BC.
A place by the name of Weneez just east of Vanderhoof is the true center of the province. A monument stands there with a plaque stating it to be the center of BC.
Stop there sometime and have a look.

Politicians can ride horses to and from the office.
Rising oil prices? It's all greed. It could perhaps be stomached if the rise in oil prices was due to real costs increasing, but it is not. It is all about the few who can get even richer with their speculation causing the many to suffer.
metalman.
tax the speculators
Hey does anybody remember gas wars? Whatever happened to those?
If you want to be heard...

You do it by numbers! Rally -Rally...pick a day have ctv there then boycott a gas company.Don't ease up, set the stage for it to roll through out the province then other provinces will take the ball and run!
And the oil co's will look at us and laugh all the way to the bank. We can't hurt big oil by not buying gas for a day/week/month
metalman.
Imorg? There is a party that will do that already.
And this party won't won't replace it with one as idiotic as the the one installed by Gordo and his three amigos up here.
Only one party has a comprehensive plan to fix problem politicians.
Refineries are dialed back, OPEC says they have no supply problems and they are meeting customers demands. There is lots of oil around. We, the working class peons are now paying for all the banksters losses in the subprime by allowing them to manipulate oil prices through futures trading. While these guys are being investigated, we know nothing will come of it. Society takes the brunt of it, while the uber-rich continue get richer and richer. This story has been playing over and over for centuries.
Oh, and if you think politicians of any stripe will save you from this scam, I've got a great real estate deal in PG just for you!
