Parents and students will not find out until later this evening whether classes will be back in session tomorrow.
School District 57 Superintendent Dick Chambers says school bus drivers have been put on stand-by pending the results of a province-wide teachers' vote on recommendations to end their illegal strike.
The B.C. Teachers Federation is set to release those results sometime after 8 p.m. this evening.
In Prince George, close to 800 teachers converged at the Coast Inn of the North last night to discuss the pros and cons of accepting the recommendations.
Prince George District Teachers Association President, Karen MacKay, says, "We had a lot of debate on both sides and it was a very good discussion. And it was very good for people to be there to hear both sides."
As for just what happens tonight, MacKay says, "I will receive a call from the B.C.T.F. this evening sometime and then I will have to contact our P.G.D.T.A. executive and we'll do a fan out to the staff reps." She says, "We'll let you know as soon as we know."
Opinion250 will have word on whether classes will resume as soon as it's available.
