Prince George, B.C. - The City of Prince George will be removing a berm and 6 trees from around the parking lot of the Prince George Cemetery.

The problem  is  primarily one of safety “We are having continual issues with vandalism and criminal activity in the parking lot” says Parks and Solid Waste Supervisor, Sean LeBrun. “The City is following the Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design Principles and removing the berm, to open the parking lot up and improve visibility from Ferry Avenue to create a safer area for the residents of Prince George”.

A tree assessment has recently been done to the trees along the berm and a number of them were found to be dead or dying as a result of the pine beetle. The City of Prince George has planted over 225 trees at the Cemetery in the past 2 years and will continue to plant many different species in the future to reinforce the commitment to beautify the grounds.

It is unfortunate that they dont plant trees where we live. But then I guess the cemetery is another cash cow at $4000.00 bucks per plot. Seems only the rich can afford to die in PG.

cheers
For the $4,000 one of my survivors will take a small vacation to a favourite spot and deposit my ashes in the wind or water.

:-)
I wonder how big my carbon footprint will be?
Don't you find it kind of creepy that the city department that looks after your dead body is called the "Department of solid waste"
You pay 4000 dollars for a spot.
Not bad considering there's no property taxes to be paid.
