Prince George, B.C. – The Committee of the Whole has a scheduled meeting for later today, and it will focus on reports from a number of committees in the City.

The Homelessness and Affordable Housing committee has several ideas on action that can be taken to increase affordable housing in the City, including developing a housing reserve fund.
Funds could be garnered through contributions association with development applications, land sales and leases. The Committee calls for an assessment of city land holdings, and a detailed examination on existing bylaws to help reduce the barriers for the construction of affordable housing.
The Committee of the Whole can make recommendations on the work plans, but City Council will have the final approval when the same work is presented to Councillors at that venue.
