Collision Closes 97 North – Update

Friday, April 3, 2015 @ 8:17 AM

Prince George, B.C. – A motor vehicle collision has closed Highway 97 in both directions 10 km north of McLeod Lake.

Sergeant Brian Donaldson of the Mackenzie RCMP says it happened at 7 am this morning 200 metres north of Tudyah Lake Provincial Park and involved two vehicles.

He says there have been multiple injuries and expects the highway will be closed for several hours.

RCMP members and the BC Ambulance Service are on scene.

Not a surprise this part of the highway is involved in a serious accident. A sharp corner on a bridge with a YRB yard entrance almost right on the corner… People looking the wrong way towards the park and Tudia Lake and then they wander over the none existent yellow line that still has not been painted with not much shoulder to compensate.

I wrote about this only two days ago… Corners in the north with no painted centreline until next fall it seems every year….

You’re an expert on everything. Two kids dead and you are the commentary we have to put up with day after day…………..

Opine must work for highways… same comment anytime anything is said about poor highways maintenance. I’ve seen the results and speak up because it doesn’t have to be this way.

I don’t know the family, but we all know they have lost more than most could bear and my condolences for their loss….
