Search for Madison Scott Continues 5 Years Later
Vanderhoof, B.C. – Tomorrow will mark the five-year anniversary of the disappearance of Madison Scott of Vanderhoof.
On Friday May 27, 2011, police say 20-year-old Maddy attended a party at Hogsback Lake – a forest service campsite located approximately 25 km south of Vanderhoof.
Mounties say she parked her 1990 Ford F150 pick-up truck and pitched her tent nearby as she was camping there with a group of new found friends from Vanderhoof.
The group was celebrating a friend’s birthday and at the end of the night, Maddy was left on her own in her tent. Everyone else left the party by 4 a.m.
Police say the next day, sometime between 4:00 a.m. and 8:30 a.m. something led to her disappearance – foul play is suspected and despite a vigorous search the investigation continues.
In support of on-going investigative efforts, the North District RCMP has released a video that provides a re-enactment, private reward and information they say the public needs to know to help in the investigation.
If you have any information regarding Maddy’s disappearance, you’re asked to call the Vanderhoof RCMP at 250-567-2222 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS.
