Prince George, B.C.-  Some tense moments at  the Prince George  Airport this morning as  WestJet flight  3105   was diverted to Prince George to make an emergency landing.

The  flight left Vancouver at  8:16 this morning,  and was scheduled to arrive in Terrace at  9:55 .  Instead the flight was diverted to Prince George.

The  problem was  with the nose  gear  of the Q400 plane.

The Airport   activated the  Emergency Operations Centre,    and its own  emergency  operations crew.  In addition, Prince George City  Fire  Rescue  as well as the Pineview  Volunteer Fire department were on scene.  BC Ambulance  also responded in the event the landing   turned tragic.

All is well.

The flight circled  YXS for about 15  minutes.   The  flight landed  safely.

It looks like they got the nose wheel down. Was the problem that they weren’t sure because the indicator read bad?

Apparently when they went to land in Terrace the Gear indication lights indicated the nose gear was not fully extended and the flight aborted and after some trouble shooting it was determined that this was an emergency and as PG is the closest airport with full Emergency services the flight was diverted to here and with emergency vehicles deployed on the runway they inspected the nose gear during a low slow pass and determined that it was fully extended and shortly there after the plane made a safe landing.
