Pantage Lake Fire ‘Under Control’
Quesnel, B.C. – It looks like the BC Wildfire Service has a firm handle on the Pantage Lake fire 40 kilometres northwest of Quesnel.
On an update on its website this afternoon, the fire is described as “under control, meaning the fire has received sufficient suppression action to ensure no further spread of the fire.”
Sparked by lightning last Sunday, the blaze grew to 168 hectares in size over the course of the week.
Nobody was injured and no property has been lost as a result.
Seventy-four firefighters, one helicopter, and two pieces of heavy equipment remain on scene working to extinguish hot spots.
