2 Parent Advisory Councils Getting Refund for Playground Equipment
Prince George, B.C. – Two Parent Advisory Councils in Prince George that had raised funds for playground equipment at their schools, are getting a refund.
School districts across the Province were asked to identify schools that had recently purchased playground equipment with the help of PAC-raised funds, which would be eligible for up to $50,000 in reimbursements under the Provinces $8 million dollar playgrounds program announced in September.
In School District 57, the PAC for Ecole Lac de Bois($14,541) and the PAC for Heritage Elementary ($15,956) were identified as qualifying for a refund.
In all, nearly $2.4 million in playground funding is being returned to PACs across the province.
The next and final phase of this program will see approximately $3.6 million being distributed across B.C. for playground upgrades, repairs and replacements. High priority projects identified by school districts will be considered for funding next fiscal year.
