After a successful first two weekends, the program will continue to run most Friday and Saturday nights throughout December, with the exception of December 23rd and 24th.

On the weekend of November 25th and 26th, volunteers provided 76 rides to persons in the community and ensured their vehicles made it home too. The following weekend, December 2nd and 3rd, the volunteers provided 144 rides.

Despite the many options available to those that chose to drink this past weekend, officers still located twelve impaired drivers on Prince George roads.

This weekend is expected to be even busier.

Operation Red Nose is a FREE charitable program run by the Rotary Club of Prince George Nechako and ICBC Road Sense. This public service began in British Columbia in 1996 and this is the 14th season in Prince George.

Teams of volunteers are dispatched to provide safe rides home to those celebrating this holiday season. Volunteers will not only drive the clients home, they drive them home in their own vehicle. The program operates between 8:00 PM and 3:00 AM. Any donations received go directly back to charities in Prince George.
