Prince George, B.C. – Have you ever thought about cross-country skiing but never quite managed to get out?
Well, Skifest this weekend at the trails at 8141 Otway Road invites families and first-timers to slap on the boards and give it a whirl. (And what better weather to do it in!)
Skifest is a worldwide celebration of Cross-Country skiing.
This Sunday there are no trail fees, and that’s coupled with a number of fun, post-Christmas events: a pancake breakfast from 8:30 to 11 a.m. at just 5 bucks a person; free lessons for beginner classic skiing at 11:30 a.m., with sign-up by 11:15 outside the rental office; a wiener roast and hot chocolate at noon at the gravel pit; and ski trail tours of Pine Flats between noon and 3 p.m. Meet outside the rental shop.
