Prince George, B.C. – It couldn’t be more aptly named, given the bone-chilling weather in the northern half of the province over the past week. The Coldsnap Folk Festival strums into high gear, running today through January 28th. An awesome array of artists playing everything from folk to hip-hop, fiddling to hard rock will take to stages around the city over the next week, providing entertainment certain to break the monotony of the northern winter.
A full list of shows and artists playing this year’s festival is available on-line and at locations such as Books and Company and Studio 2880 where, as well, you can purchase tickets to the events. It all kicks off with a Celtic Kitchen Party, 8 to 10 this evening at the Ramada, featuring the Vancouver duo FiddleStix playing just about every genre of music you can think of. 2011 Prince George Idol winner Sheena Burgess gets Girls Night Out going Saturday night at ArtSpace.
Plenty of local, regional, provincial and touring acts will be performing during Coldsnap.
