Explosion Rocks Burns Lake Babine Forest Products Mill

Burns Lake, B.C.-   The community of Burns Lake has been rocked by an explosion and fire at the Babine Forest Products Service Mill about 20 km outside Burns Lake.
 
North District RCMP Media relations Officer Lesley Smith says the explosion happened around 8:15 this evening. “It was a regular shift, but at this point we do not know how many people have been injured”
 
 
Constable Smith says the injured are being taken to the Lakes District Hospital .
On scene are emergency crews, fire, ambulance, RCMP   from Burns Lake and neighbouring communities.
 
Communications spokesperson for Northern Health, Steve Raper says Doctors and emergency staff from across the northern corridor have been mobilized to try and treat the severely injured. Raper says the number of severely injured is not yet known, nor is it known if any are being transported to University Hospital of Northern B.C. in Prince George.

Praying for these poor people tonight. Their family and friends, the whole little community must be in shock :( what sadness. Please Opinion 250 posts what the public can do to help once there is some idea.

such a tragedy and loss to those workers and families who lives have been negatively impacted. Pray that the mill is rebuilt and good things come out of the ashes.
