Prince George, B.C. – Gung Hey Fat Choy! Today marks the Chinese Lunar New Year, the beginning of a 15-day celebration of the Year of the Dragon.
The Dragon is a symbol of good fortune and sign of intense power, so luck, glory, power and respect are believed to be in the offing for the year ahead. Here in Prince George the Chinese New Year will be recognized this weekend with a big fireworks show at Fort George Park starting at 6 Saturday night. Northland Dodge is backing that display and Tracy Calogheros at The Exploration Place promises it’ll be a big, colourful show. Lion dancers will be performing Saturday evening at the China Sail Restaurant at 5th and Tabor. Call the restaurant for info.
