RCMP Make Pot Bust Near 100 Mile

On January 19, 2012, members from the North District Integrated Marihuana Enforcement Task Force (NDIME) and 100 Mile House Detachment executed a search warrant on Farquharson Road at Deka Lake, approximately 40 kilometers east of 100 Mile House.
The search warrant encompassed three (3) rural properties which belonged to the same owner. Upon attending the main residence and two (2) outbuildings on separate properties, RCMP located a sophisticated marihuana grow operation. Police seized approximately 430 plants in various stages of growth, along with related equipment used for the cultivation of Marijuana.
"If these plants had reached a stage of maturity their estimated street value could be around $430,000" Stated Cst. Lesley Smith, North District Media Relations Officer. " Members found 2 (two) hydro bypasses that were being used to supply power to 2(two) of the 3(three) properties. "
An adult male and female were arrested at the scene and are facing charges for Production of a Controlled Substance, Possession For the Purpose of Trafficking, Theft of Hydro and Unsafe Storage of Firearms. They will be making their first court appearance on April 3, 2012.
