Fatal Crash On Sea-To-Sky Highway

RCMP say a pick-up truck crossed the centre line and collided with an oncoming limousine, the limo exploded and was engulfed in flames killing the 54-year-old male driver, who was the only occupant of the vehicle.
Police say the 19-year-old male driver of the truck is from Calgary, Alberta and is being investigated for impaired driving by drug. He sustained serious injuries in the crash and was transported to a local hospital pending further investigation.
"This is a terrible tragedy that resulted in the death of an innocent driver," says Sergeant Peter Thiessen. "The family of the deceased victim has bee affected for a lifetime and will never be the same.
The highway between Vancouver and Whistler was closed for eight hours overnight while investigators worked at the crash scene.

There is no excuse for impaired driving. If it is found the driver was impaired then he needs a stiff prison sentence,not a slap on the wrist. It is long over due for our justice system to start handing gown stiff sentences for this . When will people wake up ?!
HarleyGuy72: Right on. Something has got to change to make people realise the harm, grief and suffering they cause when they do something like this PERIOD. We can hardly call this a ‘civilisation’ othewise.
Anyone ever wonder why taxi drivers, chauffeur drivers, designated drives can’t buy underinsured motorist protection from ICBC? One would expect that they are the ones who most need it.
Well, it makes more sense to sell it to everyone else who is home in bed by 10pm and the risk is substantially less.
That’s our own, government provided insurance program. ICBC Sucks big time. Ask me how I know?
