Thieves Target Ford F-350s

Monday, January 30, 2012 @ 12:21 PM

Prince George, BC – Prince George RCMP have been warning truck owners, particularly those that own Ford F-350s, to take extra precautions to prevent vehicle theft and this weekend was a case in-point…

Corporal Craig Douglass says one F-350 was stolen and another had the door lock punched and ignition damaged, while parked at the entrance to the Foothills landfill yesterday morning.  Douglass says the owners parked near the entrance at about 10am yesterday morning to go snowmobiling, when they returned approximately two hours later, one of the trucks was gone and the other was damaged.

The stolen pick-up is a 2007 white Ford F-350 with the BC licence plate DC 5221.

Corporal Douglass is offering up some tips to prevent your vehicle from being stolen:

  • invest in at least one anti-theft device, particularly a passive immobilizer
  • don’t leave spare keys in your vehicle
  • park in well-lit areas, avoid parking behind barriers like fences and hedges

To thieves, Prince George police have this warning:  local RCMP actively participate in the BAITCar program.  BAITCars are everywhere – steal a BAITCar, go to jail.

I guess I’ll just have to sleep in my truck. With my Mossberg 500 of course. LOL

Get a nice warm room for the night, 3 square meals and the cycle starts over again.

I’m thinking that a bear trap on the driver’s seat would do the trick, just cover it with a flimsy sheet. Or, for a more classic approach, a leg hold trap on the brake pedal.
metalman.

Just don’t forget the booby trap!

I have a 3/8 Rope, good for many things

You guys give me SO MANY good ideas, still laughing.
Just think, in some U.S. states the guys would get shot legally, but up here in our Canadian way, we ask them nicely to leave our property alone. If they don’t, god help them, the police are called.
Talked to police and talked to cons in the past, if they see a steering wheel lock bar, they keep going. Lotsa vehicles to steal, lotta people make it easy. Keys in the console, they don’t lock it, leave windows open. With these two vehicles, someone had to see something, 10 in the morning, people coming and going. Absolutely maddening when it happens to you.
Last summer, found a guy trying to get in to cars at 5 in the morning, residential area, sucker ran faster than me, damn!
