High School In Langley Under Police Lockdown
Prince George, B.C. – A high school in Langley is currently under RCMP lockdown after a report of a firearm was anonymously called into police.
RCMP are conducting a careful search of Langley Secondary School, while anxious parents are being directed to a nearby arena to meet with police, Victim Services and a school board representative.
RCMP Corporal, Holly Marks, says, "There have been no reports of shots fired, or of any injuries. Additionally, we are not award of any direct threat to a student or staff member."
Marks says, "All available police officers are working on this right now, as well as Surrey Detachment members. The Police Dog Services integrated team is already at the school, assisting with this investigation." She also notes the Lower Mainland District Emergency Response team is on standby, if required.
