RCMP Call News Conference To Respond To Willey Report

Tuesday, January 31, 2012 @ 4:52 AM

Prince George, B.C. –  In anticipation of the release of a report from the Commission for Public Complaints Against the RCMP examining the in-custody death of Clay Alvin Willey, Prince George RCMP have scheduled a news conference for later this morning.

The CPC included Willey’s death in a public complaints investigation that began in January of 2009 examining taser-related deaths, but widened the scope of its investigation with respect to the Willey case following a request for BC’s Solicitor-General in November of that same year. Both Superintendent Eric Stubbs, Officer in Charge of the Prince George Detachment and Superintendent Rod Booth, Acting Officer in Charge of the North District RCMP will be on-hand to respond to the report.

The conference is set for 11am.
