Prince George, B.C. –  RCMP expect to remain at the scene of ‘suspicious’ findings on a vacant property in Fort St. James well into the night…

‘E’ Division Senior Media Relations Officer, Sergeant Rob Vermeulen, says local RCMP officers were "acting on information received" when they went to the lot on Lower Road, along Stuart Lake, yesterday afternoon.  Based on what they found, the scene was secured and officers from North District’s Major Crime and Forensic Identification Units were called out from Prince George.

Sergeant Vermeulen says officers will remain on-site until they’ve completed their investigation, he expects that could be well into the night, and possibly even tomorrow. 

Vermeulen says he simply does not know whether the findings may pertain to recent or historical ongoing investigations.  He says the RCMP has not made contact with, nor been contacted by, family members of any individuals at the centre of those investigations.
