Prince George, B.C. – The Super Bowl can wait…

It was all about the CFL at Pine Centre mall tonight as the line up of football fans wrapped around the food court for a chance to meet three players from the Grey Cup Champion BC Lions.

The players and cup were at the mall for one hour this evening, as part of a 15-stop tour in communities across the province.

Geroy Simon, Angus Reid and J.R. LaRose had time for every person – big or small – who made their way down the meet and greet table, whether it was a handshake, autograph or picture.

Photo at left shows 10-year-old Lucas Crosina posing with the guys for a snapshot taken by his dad.

Zanette Doolon says she’s a huge football fan and was thrilled to meet the players.  She couldn’t get over the size of the Grey Cup rings and asked for a close-up shot of Geroy Simon’s.

Four-year-old Landyn Olson thought the whole event was "good" – he actually got to try on one of the rings and had his picture taken all by himself with the cup.

For those Lions fans who couldn’t make it to Pine Centre tonight, there is one more local opportunity tomorrow morning at the Prince George Native Friendship Centre on 3rd Avenue between 9:30 and 10:15am.

Photo below shows Landyn’s turn with the cup…a future Lion, perhaps?
