Prince George, B.C. – On 2012-02-02 at 8:18pm members of the Prince George Regional Provincial Traffic Services, Vanderhoof Traffic Services, and Fraser Lake detachment, responded to a two vehicle collision on Highway 16 West, just west of Fraser Lake.
A 32 year old Fraser Lake man died after the west bound Honda Civic he was driving crossed the center line and collided, head on, with an east bound GMC pickup. The driver, and lone occupant of the pickup, was not injured in the crash.
Alcohol is considered to be a factor in the collision that occurred on the Stellaquo Overpass. The crash resulted in the closure of Highway 16 West to both directions of traffic for several hours while police conducted the investigation. A detour was established around the crash scene.
Police are asking for anyone who may have witnessed this crash, or have information that may aid in the investigation to contact the RCMP or Crimestoppers. Name of the deceased is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.

What’s with all the drunk drivers in the news lately? It’s not rocket science; if you drink, please don’t drive.
Good thing no one else was hurt.
