Prince George, B.C. – RCMP in Dawson Creek have three suspects in custody in connection with the death of a man at a Hedley concert in the city last night.
At approximately 9:30 pm the Dawson Creek RCMP received a complaint of a fight at the concert being held at the Encana Event Center. The fight involved five people. When one of the victims fell to the ground the assault continued until a civilian intervened to break it up.
The 28 year old victim was found unconscious by event security and paramedics. He was transported to the Dawson Creek Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. The second victim is cooperating with police and suffered non-life threatening injuries.
Three suspects were subsequently located and arrested in a different drinking establishment. They are currently in custody at the Dawson Creek RCMP detachment. North District Major Crime Unit and the Fort St. John Forensic Identification Unit are on scene investigating the serious offence.
"At this stage we believe the three males had an altercation with the two victims," stated Cst. Lesley Smith, North District Media Relations Officer. "The assault continued into the men’s washroom where one of the victims was found seriously injured. He has since succumbed to his injuries. "

Shades of Meridith Hunter in Altamont.
Watch this get downgraded from 2nd degree murder to manslaughter. What a shame.
One day in jail and eighteen months probation. When it goes to court in about two (calendar) years.
Some people are pure animals with little consideration for their actions. One can only hope the legal system keeps them out of society for very long time.
For once, I agree with Eagleone. Back in the old days, when you went down that would be the end of it. Now when you go down, three or four people come over and kick you and jump on your head until you’re unconscious or worse.
Ya thank goodness the long gun registry is dead.
Everyone can dig up their single shot cooey 22 cal assault rifles from their back yards now! ;-)
eagleone: agreed
Kicking a man when he is down is pure cowardice.
metalman.
so maybe, if we allow these skum bags to put the boots to a few judges, maybe then, and only then will the justice system wake up and send this dog $#!+ away for the rest of their pathetic lives!
I’m with you metalman, “kicking a man when he is down is pure cowardice”
