CNC Hosts Final Celebration For Black History Month
Models wearing clothing from Eastern Africa were part of evening’s fashion show
Prince George, B.C. – City residents attending the main event celebrating Black History Month at CNC last night were treated to a fashion show featuring colourful and ornately-detailed outfits from throughout Africa.
In addition to a dinner and dance, two-time Juno award winner, Wes Williams, was the guest speaker. Also known as Maestro, Williams is often referred to as ‘the Godfather of Canadian hip hop’.
The evening wrapped up a month-long series of events organized by CNC instructor, George Kaweesi, as part of the college’s 14th annual Black History Month celebrations.
Kaweesi says, "These events remind everyone that our community is made up of those from near and far and they share a common goal of trying to make it better."
