Mobile home barely visibly through haze of smoke
Prince George, B.C.- Fire investigators and the RCMP are now looking for the cause of this morning’s blaze at a mobile home on Helm Drive.
The fire broke out shortly before noon today. Fifteen firefighters from 3 halls responded to the blaze in the 6000 block of Helm Drive, in the subdivision immediately east of the Eagles Hall on Dagg Road. When they arrived on scene, the crews encountered heavy flames and smoke but quickly extinguished the fire.
The home was a mobile unit that was first thought to be occupied, but a primary and secondary search of the building determined there was no one in the building at the time.
Damage has been estimated at $50 thousand dollars.

Wow…talk about trying to drum up drama on an ultra slow news day! “Barely visible through haze of smoke”, huh? I think most anyone can see the trailer quite clearly through that thin veil of smoke.
Must be time for Shari and Cam to do something stupid and/or upsetting to the electorate again, so Op250 doesn’t have to try to artificially inflate the excitement factor of a dull day.
$50,000 dollars damage is significant to the person that owns this home, are you suggesting that we should only do fires when the homes are worth say over $500,000.00.
Or should we be representing all walks of life.
Drama for you perhaps, heart break to most people who can least afford it.
I’m not suggesting a fire story should not be reported. I am suggesting you should provide only the facts. “Barely visible” is over dramatic and not factual.
If I asked 100 people if the trailer in that photo was A) “visible”, B) “mostly visible”, C) “barely visible” or D) “completely invisible”…how many do you honestly think would respond with answer (C)?
Some points –
-glad no one was injured
-I hope they have insurance, there are a lot of rentals in that area
-Any residence burning in PG is definitely news
Hey there Ex-whatever. Were you there at the fire to see what was going on? Probably not. Do you know first hand what the “facts” are about the fire? Drone on, drone on.
Maybe Ex guy should move to where news stories are much better. I have friends who live in that area so it’s news to me and most likey many others.
Once again, show me where I stated that the trailer fire was not news. I simply stated we could have news reported without the tabloid element…but I guess One Democrat and acidrider need their eyes checked if they agree that the trailer is “barely visible through the smoke”.
Car crashes are news too. If Op250 were to report a 2-vehicle MVA at the intersection of 10th and Central…with an accompanying picture of a couple of scuffed bumpers and a slightly gouged fender…I suppose you think it would also be responsible journalism to state “the mangled wreckage of today’s pileup!”???
Dude if ur making so many bad posts because u DONT AGREE WITH HOW VISABLE THE HOUSE IS then I sugest u find a hobby because ur spending too much time on the internet. its not like some huge false advertising thing and like meisner said thats some1’s home that u are using to sit in ur armchair in ur moms basement and complain about slow news days. grow up and have some feeling for others, what if it was ur home burning down, would u care if the tagline was wrong about how visible your home was thru the smoke??
Well said Real Talk…I agree
Any one give pause to think of getting a hold of these fire victims as a concerned individual to ask them what you can do for them? However small? Put yerself in their place? I thought not.
