Premier Clark Notes One Year Anniversary Of Japan Earthquake

Sunday, March 11, 2012 @ 10:21 AM

VICTORIA – Premier Christy Clark released the following statement on the one-year anniversary of the Japan earthquake and resulting tsunami:

"One year ago, the world watched in horror as disaster struck our friends in Japan. It would become even more devastating as the hours and days passed. The untold damage of that earthquake and the incalculable destruction of the tsunami that followed will be remembered for generations, and forever changed the lives of so many Japanese families.

"British Columbia is proud to have been part of the recovery effort with one of our oldest trading partners. Our government is pleased to support the Canada-Tohoku Reconstruction Project, a joint federal-provincial-industry partnership with Japanese authorities that supports construction of facilities using Canadian wood.

"One year later, our hearts, thoughts and prayers remain with those families who lost their homes and loved ones. The strength, determination and human spirit displayed by those affected inspire us still."

How nice,we can celebrate when there is an ELECTION too be rid of the FIBTARDS,The ppl did not put her there!!

How can we call her Premier, when the voting public never voted her in?!

“How can we call her Premier, when the voting public never voted her in”

Because that is the way it works in Canada. The only way you can ever vote in a premier or prime minister is if you live in the riding in which the premier lives.

Pretty stupid, eh?

Time to get a Republic in so that we can all vote who the President will be.

It would make a hell of a difference. I mean, just look at the USA. ;-)

Lets see what bone they throw the voters prior to the election. PPl forget to easy,
BCrail, Hydro Bonus, smart meters ( which means higher rates) theve taken not 1 but 2 pay increases and the Mafia list goes on and on.

Just had my dog put to sleep by a vet on Friday. He charged me almost $14 dollars HST on his fee. Sure hope my dog didn’t die in vain and that $14 dollars goes to help create a job here in BC like the Liberals told me it would.

Sorry to hear about your dog. Ours went in a few weeks ago with a bill which will end up being over $1,000 by the time everything is done, all for an infection he picked up. So, I and many others know about the HST or GST+PST, whichever way you look at it. Maybe when the PST comes back in next April, there will only be GST to pay on vet bills.

Now about those Japanese, eh. They seem to have made some great strides in cleaning up.

There are several 360D images on the net taken over the past year. This is one of the ones which shows most progress
